We invite metaphoric, creative or direct engagement with the theme: Reckoning/Foresight. Submissions might address Psychoanalysis as a field, as a theory, as research, as practice, and/or as a way to offer a social/historical/political reading of our current world
Listed below are the presentation formats:
These formats include multiple presenters and are limited to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Panels typically include 2 to 3 presenters (15-20 minutes each) and a moderator/discussant. Roundtables feature short informal presentations (5-8 minutes each) by the participants followed by discussion.
PAPERS WITH DISCUSSIONS
This format may include 1 or 2 participants presenting papers and is limited to 50 minutes in length.
MEET THE AUTHOR
This format is 50 minutes in length and allows for an author or co-authors of a recently published book to lead an informal discussion.
Posters can include presentations of quantitative and/or qualitative research with empirical relevance to any area of psychoanalytic treatment or theory. Posters must only be submitted to email@example.com no later than November 8, 2019.
GENERAL SUBMISSION INFORMATION
Panels, Roundtables and Papers must include an abstract for each prepared paper (if any), address the ways in which the submission engages the conference theme, include a description of the time allotted for discussion, as well as how the submission takes up encouraged areas of exploration. It is expected that a significant portion of the presentation will include discussion among presenters and between presenters and the audience.
Only submissions for Panels and Roundtables require a “Continuing Education Information Form.” This form can be accessed from the submission website or downloaded via the Division 39 website and must be submitted as an attachment with your proposal. Papers With Discussions and Meet the Author submissions are not CE credit eligible and do not need to include the CE form.
Please note: All presenters MUST register and pay for the conference. We are sorry but there are no exceptions to this requirement. Please consider this when generating your proposal. Scheduling decisions are made by the conference committee and cannot be specially arranged. A maximum of 3 proposals may be submitted per person.
